Build an AI Receptionist

Build a voice agent that replies in under half a second, hears how the caller sounds, and comes with a CRM the client logs into. The production system, not the demo everyone posts.

4sections26lessons

What you will learn

  • Build a voice agent that replies in 300 to 500 milliseconds, on a pipeline you own end to end
  • Ship a full CRM your client logs into, with their name and their brand on it
  • Run inbound calls, outbound callbacks and a website chatbot from one agent and one dashboard
  • Give the agent a real phone number and put it on the client's website the same afternoon
  • Wire in a RAG knowledge base so the agent knows the whole business, not a script
  • Upload prices, policies and FAQs as PDF, CSV, Word or text, and have it answer from them
  • Make it say it does not know instead of inventing a price nobody quoted
  • Book straight into a real Google Calendar, checking availability mid call
  • See every caller as a lead with a full transcript, so nothing dies in a call log
  • Call a lead back within thirty seconds of them filling in a form, while they are still on the page
  • Build an agent that hears how the caller sounds, not just the words they used
  • Get the full source code for everything, yours to rebrand and sell
  • Stand up the next client in about ten minutes, because the hard setup happens once
  • Demo it on a prospect's live website without touching their code or asking for access

Curriculum

  • What You Are Building, and Who It Is For

Requirements

  • No coding experience for the first module. It is dashboards and prompts
  • Comfort running commands in a terminal from the second module onward
  • A handful of free accounts, all set up step by step with screenshots
  • A phone, because you will be calling your own agent constantly

About this course

Search for AI voice agents and you get the same video every time. Drag some boxes, connect a spreadsheet, make one call on camera, done. It demos beautifully and it falls apart the moment a real business puts real volume through it.

The reason is architecture, and it is not a setting anybody forgot. A hosted pipeline runs four sequential hops between four different companies: wait for the pause, transcribe, think, speak. A default setup lands somewhere between nine hundred and twelve hundred milliseconds, and a badly tuned one goes past two seconds. You inherit the slowest link in that chain, on whatever day it is slow, and you are never told.

Speech to speech is a different architecture entirely. One model, audio in and audio out, three hundred to five hundred milliseconds, and because it never converts to text it still knows how the sentence was said. There is no toggle for this on any platform. Getting there means owning the connection yourself, which is exactly what the second module does.

That last part is worth more than the speed. A transcript has no tone in it. When a caller is annoyed, that lives in the audio for a fraction of a second and is then deleted, so the model reads the words fine, whatever with no idea anything happened. For a booking line you survive that. For a complaint line, a collections call, or anything where the caller has feelings about why they rang, it is the entire job.

You do start on a hosted platform, deliberately, and you have an agent answering a real number quickly. Understanding arrives much faster once you have heard your own agent handle a call badly and know which of the four hops caused it. Then you leave, and the course is honest about when that is the right call and when it is not.

The last module is the part that makes it sellable rather than impressive. Anyone can demo an agent that talks. Most demos die when the owner asks where they see the people who called, and there is no answer. You build that answer: a CRM with agent templates, a knowledge base, leads with transcripts, a real calendar, a chat widget and outbound callbacks, all in the client's brand with their name in the corner.

This is the system I sell to clients, at agency prices rather than tutorial prices, and the reason it commands them is that it holds up in production. After the first setup, standing up the next client takes about ten minutes.

Who this course is for

  • Freelancers and agency owners who want to sell a product, not a proof of concept
  • Developers who can ship but do not know what to package or how to demo it
  • Anyone whose agent is fast enough in testing and too slow on a real call
  • People building for clinics, agencies, contractors and anyone who lives on the phone
  • Anyone who has followed a no code voice tutorial and found it collapses under real use

Stop shipping demos.

This class comes with the rest of the library, every future class, and the same architecture I ship to paying clients. Start with 14 days free, then one payment. Never a subscription.
